Five Benefits Of CBD

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of the natural substances in weed. Unlike its big brother THC, CBD is not psychoactive, meaning it won’t intoxicate you. That’s not to say CBD doesn’t have any benefits! In the last few years, supplements made from this cannabis extract have become popular therapeutic options for a wide range of conditions.

Here are five ways CBD supplements could benefit you!

Sleep Problems

CBD is believed to work in the body by affecting your body’s network of receptors called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS helps regulate energy, mood, and other bodily functions – including sleep. Rather than affecting them in a way that intoxicates them, CBD is believed to act as an anti-inflammatory, decreasing cortisol levels and bringing about homeostasis, a balance of the ECS.

One’s sleep quality is closely related to stress, and a balanced ECS may decrease the feelings that could be keeping users awake or restless. For sleep disorders caused by external factors or medical conditions, CBD may help treat sleeplessness!

Mental Health Benefits

Common mental health complications like anxiety and depression can have a devastating impact on one’s health and well-being. Many people take prescription drugs to deal with their mental health issues; these can cause many side effects like sleeplessness, drowsiness, sexual dysfunction, and headaches.

CBD oil has shown promise as a treatment for both depression and anxiety. It has also shown antidepressant-like effects in several animal studies. The results may be connected with how CBD acts on the brain’s serotonin receptors, neurotransmitters that regulate mood and social behavior in the body. Many who live with mental health disorders add CBD to take a more natural approach to relief from depression and anxiety.

Pain Relief

Researchers have discovered that some components of cannabis, including CBD, are responsible for its pain-relieving effects. It may help reduce chronic pain by impacting ESS receptor activity, reducing inflammation through interacting with neurotransmitters. For some conditions like multiple sclerosis and arthritis, CBD may be more effective in reducing pain when combined with the psychoactive THC.

Side Effects Of Cancer Treatment

CBD may help reduce symptoms related to cancer and side effects related to chemotherapy treatment, including nausea, vomiting, and nerve pain. It may be more effective when combined with THC. More research is needed to assess its efficacy and safety, but most CBD supplements are safe to take with a doctor’s okay.

It May Help With Acne!

CBD may have beneficial effects on reducing acne! Because it has anti-inflammatory qualities, researchers have found that it can control the overproduction of sebum. Sebum is an oily secretion made by sebaceous glands in the skin, and it protects your skin and keeps it moisturized. Too much sebum, however, can clog the pores and lead to acne. Like some of our other benefits, we may need more human studies to explore the effects of CBD on acne.

One of CBD’s main benefits in all of this is how it’s a safe, non-psychoactive supplement. Most people can take legitimate CBD capsules, tinctures, and gummies during the day without side effects. If you’re taking medications, however, make sure to clear CBD use with your doctor. Many medications are broken down by certain enzymes in the liver; CBD can inhibit the production of some of these enzymes. It could make them break down certain drugs more slowly, increasing side effects unless your doctor adjusts the dose.
